If We Were Having Coffee…

I have been reading a lot of these posts lately and I really wanted to write one myself. So make a cuppa, sit down and have a coffee with me..

Today I am having a Nescafe instant coffee with frothy milk in my Grin and Bear it mug, cosied up in my dressing gown. The weather out today is truly “stay at home weather” which has made me thoughtful (and very very cold).

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you about my first ever experience with selling clothes on e-bay. I have just listed four dresses on e-bay, with a 7 day auction. Not too hopeful that they’ll sell but at least if they don’t I can re-list them at a lower price and I don’t lose anything. I have been sorting through my wardrobe and de-cluttering. Most things I have got rid of are way too old to have any value, but there are a few items which I hope I can get some ££ for.

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I have been bitten by the saving bug. I have realised how much I overspend on unnecessary purchases, and at the end of the month all my money’s gone yet I have nothing big to show for it. If you’re wondering where your money is disappearing to every month- go back and have a look at your bank account and add up all those coffee trips, the odd snack trip to the supermarket and lunch/ dinner out. I have set myself targets of how much money I want to have left in my bank account at the end of each week and whatever I have left at the end of the month will go into my savings account. I’d much rather spend my money on something big or a holiday than little senseless purchases.

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I have decided to stop buying any more beauty subscription boxes. I have tried Birchbox (9), Glossybox (2) and My little box (1). I used to love Birchbox, but thinking back on it that was probably because I had been gifted a 6 month subscription so even if I was disappointed by a box, I was happy with the little present every month so didn’t begrudge it. I tried Glossybox for two months. One month was fantastic and the second was utter poop. I will try to work on using up all the stuff I have accumulated and only buy stuff I really need as part of my daily make up/ skincare routine. But if you know me, you’ll know I can’t say no to an offer. So if I see two boxes for the price of one anywhere I probably won’t be able to resist.

If we were having coffee… I’d moan to you about the horrible British weather and tell you how much I’m looking forward to going on holiday somewhere hot this summer. I’d ask you where you were planning on going and if you’d managed to get the time off work?

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you how obsessed I have become with the blogging world and how much I enjoy reading other people’s blogs and writing my own. In a way I think it has helped me to stop spending and shopping online because instead of browsing shopping websites I read about people’s make-up and skincare routines. Something which really shouldn’t be that interesting… but it is to me.

Finally we’d say goodbye and look in our diaries for when we can book the next coffee catch up.

Until next time,

Anna x
